how to map network drive, release letter used by hdd?
I had two hard drives in my computer. I removed one and since than I had to map one of my network drives manually every time I log in even every time I check “Reconnect at logon”.
It looks like the system still keeps this specific letter reserved even I did rescan and refresh at Disk Management window.
I need that network drive mapped with one specific letter because one of my programs keeps data using this letter.
I am using XP.
control panel – admin tools – Computer management
right click on the network drive and select “change Drive Letter and Paths”, then select Change and assign the new drive letter.
