Potato Cannon question about lengths?
I need help on the lengths of the barrel and combustion chamber on a potato cannon. I will be building my first cannon and I have the following picked: 5 feet of 1.5 inch ABS pipe, 2 feet of 3 inch ABS, 3 to 1.5 inch reducer, 3 inch threaded adapter, 3″ end cap, and ABS cement, and a lantern sparker. I know how to assemble it and yes I know they are dangerous so don’t give me that stuff. What I need to know is how long should my barrel and my combustion chamber be? I want it to be powerful and I don’t care if it is loud, I just want it to shoot the best way possible. I was thinking either a 2 foot or 20 inch combustion chamber with the 3″ pipe and a 3-5 ft barrel. Please tell me what length would be best with a 1.5″ barrel and a 3″ combustion chamber. Thanks!
