What is the name of this vacuum device? It pumps compressed air on one side and creates a vacuum in chamber?
There is actually a compressed air hose connected to it, But it sucks air out of the chamber to create a negative pressure.

Vacuum Pump, device that removes air or other gases from a sealed chamber. Vacuum pumps are used in the manufacture of many items, including light bulbs and electronic components. They are also used in metal production, in the atomic energy industry, and as part of freeze-drying in the medical, biological, and food industries.
By removing gas from a chamber, a vacuum pump reduces the pressure inside the chamber. This is because fewer and fewer gas molecules hit the chamber walls, creating less and less pressure. The vacuums created by pumps are therefore measured in units of pressure remaining in the chamber.
The type of vacuum pump used in a specific technology depends on the desired level of vacuum. Oil-sealed rotary pumps are used to obtain pressures down to one-millionth of normal atmospheric pressure. These pumps consist of a cylindrical rotor, or rotating device, in an outer cylinder that has inlet and outlet valves. The whole pump is immersed in oil, which lubricates and forms a seal at the sliding surfaces and at the ends of the cylinder. Gas from the vacuum chamber is trapped in a compression space. As the available volume decreases, the pressure rises and the gas is expelled through a valve.
High-speed mechanical vacuum pumps are required for some industrial applications. In these pumps, gas molecules enter the pump chamber from above. Rapidly spinning rotors then throw the molecules out through a separate opening.
The majority of modern high-vacuum systems use powerful pumps known as diffusion pumps. In these devices, jets send oil vapor or mercury vapor through an inlet chamber. The rapidly moving vapor forces gas molecules in the chamber to flow in the same direction. Gas pressure builds up at the end of the chamber opposite the jets and leaves the chamber through a valve. The vapor then condenses on the walls of the chamber. A heater turns the liquid oil or mercury back into vapor so that it can be sent through the jets once again.
German physicist Otto von Guericke invented the air pump in 1650. He removed much of the air from a sealed container and discovered that a partial vacuum extinguishes flames and dampens sound. In 1662 British scientist Robert Boyle improved the vacuum pump design and discovered that the pressure of a gas is inversely proportional to its volume.
During the latter half of the 19th century, scientists used vacuum pumps to create low gas pressures, which allowed them to investigate electrical discharges in gases. German inventor and glassblower Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Geissler invented a hand-operated pump with moving columns of liquid mercury that removed air from glass tubes in 1858.
