Dual Port
I need to know the difference between a dual port and a single port engine.?
Im building a trike for a guy that is disabled and need to find a dual port vw engine. I dont know how to tell the difference. i want to make this trike reliable so im going with a freshly rebuilt engine but need a dual port core to turn in to the shop thats building the engine for me. please help
jb has his intake and exhaust ports mixed up. the dual port refers to the intake ports on top of the cylinder head. is is as simple a one hole or two holes. at a glance you can look at what coul be referred to as the intake manifold. look at the carb and follow the intake mainfold down (it splits to the driver and passenger sides of the motor) follow one side ,it does not matter which, and from there you will see just past a rubber boot that the manifold stays as a smallish single tube the last few inches to the head. this would be a single port . or it widens and you will be able to see that there are two ports.
