US Senators postpone Lockerbie BP hearing over lack of witnesses(UK), Senators are angry over the number of UK citizens who declined the ‘invitation’ to appear at the hearing.
Of course if the shoe was on the other foot the US would bend over backwards, yea!
Warren Anderson, Union Carbide CEO at the time of the world’s worst industrial disaster in Bhopal, India, lives a life of luxury in New York State. Anderson has been hiding in the US since an explosion at his company’s plant in Bhopal caused the immediate deaths of thousands of people and led to life long suffering for almost 120,000 survivors. He is wanted in India to face charges of culpable homicide over the deaths of 20,000 people since the disaster.
Your comments on this latest example of the US telling the world: Don’t do as we do, do as we say?
I’ll be totally honest – the Scots have no plans now or ever to turn up at the US Senate to explain their laws and they way in which they do things. If American Senators, many of whom claim to be Christians, understand anything at all about being a Christian, it’s all there in the Lords Prayer and Scotland is ruled by Christian folk who do not simply mutter the words, but who deliver Christian values to their every day lives.

As you say, the folk of Bhopal in Injah have received not cent in compensation from the likes of Warren Anderson. He should be shoved on a plane and sent to Bhopal to explain what he plans to do with his billions of dollars and how he is going to help the people there to recover from the disaster caused by him and his company of Americans.
One final rant – have you noticed, BP is now firmily in control of an American. Told you it was not a British company. Words which have fallen on deaf and stupid ears for weeks. BP has 40,000 US based employees and a mere 20,000 here in the UK – it is therefore an American company.
When are we British going to turf out American service personnel, an army of occupation, which uses RAF airfields to conduct their bombing raids around the world?
As a boy here in London (b1941) is can still remember seeing the words chalked up on the brick walls of some of the bombed out houses in the late stages of the war – YANKEE, GO HOME!
