Mig Arc

If a welder certifies in a MIG pulse process, does that automatically certify him in the short arc process?
Steven..I don’t think so. There is a mil spec number that is associated with every type of welding mig, stick or Tig and then they are broke dow even further into flat vertical and inclined overhead. The weld procedure most critical will certify for those under it …for example if you can weld vertically with a stick 7018LH rod you can weld flat..the short arc your speaking of is TIG welding which requires a completely different set of skills ..The objective is to reduce the number of occlusions in the weld by getting the best people on the job. In most cases where life or property is at stake the weld procedure requires full x-RAY and to pass a test like that you need to be very good at that particular weld your doing. Not every welder can do all procedures…Have a good one from the E
