Do you think I have an infection in my teeth after a dental procedure?
I had to have 5 fillings removed and drilled in further to make room for temps. They are putting in crowns next week (like a zillion dollars, by the way, if you drink Mt.Dew 24-7,STOP- the acid eats your teeth away even if you have good dental hygiene! ANYWAYS, BACK TO THE SUBJECT. The whole thing took 2 hrs. and they kept having to give me more anethestic since I could feel the drill (very painful) even though I was high as a kite on Nitrous Oxide! This was 2 days ago. My cheek is very puffy and I still have A LOT of pain! They called in Amoxicillin and Darvocet last night. The Darvocet didn’t even help that much and I took 4 at a time instead of 2! I’m really scared since I’m very prone to MRSA. EVERY TIME THAT I EVEN GET A CUT OR A PIMPLE, I GET MRSA AND HAVE TO TAKE USUALLY SEPTRA. I didn’t mention this to the dentist. Could MRSA get in my mouth? Could I have an impacted tooth? What could be going on to be causing this much pain and swelling? THANKS FOR ANY HELP!
Yes you have an infection. I’m surprised they didn’t give you antibiotics to get that clear first. I know that when I was getting my teeth pulled the anesthetic they gave me didn’t work cause of an infection. He said they would have to get that cleared up first. I didn’t want to wait and told him Look I have had 5 children don’t worry about the pain, I’m use to it. Pull them.
You should tell any doctor including Dentist your medical problems. They take all that in consideration. When you go back tell him. Also I would call the Dentist now and tell them the problems and maybe he could call in the medicine you need before you have to go.
